ACCIONA Energía is the largest global energy operator dedicated exclusively to renewable energies, with no ties or legacy related to fossil-fuel technologies. 2021 has been defined by the IPO of 17.25% of the company’s shares. The goal of this operation is to reduce financial costs and obtain greater balance capacity to accelerate growth.

RESULTS

2021 FINANCIAL RESULTS

Despite a lower production than expected, the results of the 2021 financial year show strong growth in all items, driven by both the Generation business in Spain and the International business. The reduction in financial costs thanks to the group’s new financial structure has contributed significantly to the substantial growth.

KEY MILESTONES 2021

Milestone 1

IPO

ACCIONA Energía completed the IPO process, starting to list our shares on July 1 on the Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia Stock Exchanges under the ticket “ANE”.

BEST RATING ESG

1. ACCIONA Energía has received the best environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) rating in the global energy sector in a cross-sector assessment conducted by S&P Global Ratings.

FINANCIAL STRENGTH

Total revenue in 2021 reached €2,472 million, an increase of 39.8% compared to 2020. EBITDA rose by 25.1% to €1,086 million and Net Attributable Profit grew to €363 million (+76.6%).

Milestone 4

INSTALLED CAPACITY

1. Total installed capacity at the end of the year was 11.2GW compared to 10.7GW as of December 2020. At the consolidated level, capacity increased by 6.2%, from 8.6GW to 9.2GW.

Milestone 5

WIND EXPANSION

A total of 557MW (gross) were installed during the year, mainly represented by 140MW wind power in Australia (Mortlake South), 145MW wind power in Mexico (San Carlos), 209MW photovoltaic power in Chile (Malgarida) and 48MW wind power in Spain (Celada Fusión).
